THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE CREATOR
Regular Meeting of the Vestry
Present: Bob Blanton, Priest in Charge; Ross Turner (Senior Warden); Tommy Mills (Treasurer); John Lanford; Beth Braley; Jennifer Duncan; and Dianne Martin (Clerk)
Call to Order: Ross called the meeting to order and led the opening prayer at 6:34 P.M.
Approval of Minutes from Last Vestry Meeting: John made a motion to accept the October meeting minutes. Beth seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Treasurer Report
Beth gave the Treasurer’s report. Our quarterly taxes were paid this past month and we still came out with $2,295.78 more in revenue than expense in October.
Jr. Warden Report
Beth reported that everything seems to be going fine. Frank Hennington fixed the outside lights last weekend. Beth will check on inside lights tomorrow.
New Business
Stewardship
Jennifer made a motion that we send $750 in support of the diocese this month (November). John seconded the motion and the motion passed. We discussed sending a percentage of our tithes and offerings to the diocese next year, possibly on a monthly basis. We will determine if this is how we would like to proceed and/or what percentage after the pledges come in.
Advent and Christmas Celebration
We discussed changes that will take place to ready the church for advent such as using advent music, putting out the advent wreath, and putting wax candles in the windows. We will have the greening of the church prior to the Christmas Eve service. We will have a traditional Episcopal service this year on Christmas Eve. There will be no service on Christmas Day.
Pastor Clark
Pastor Clark will lead our service on December 18th. Pastor Bob and Joan will be out of town from July 5 through August 3 of next year and Pastor Clark will be leading the service on those Sundays.
The next Vestry Meeting will be held December 19, 2022, at 6:30 PM.
John moved that the meeting be adjourned. Jennifer seconded the motion and it passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:27 P.M.
