THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE CREATOR
Regular Meeting of the Vestry
Present: Bob Blanton, Priest in Charge; Beth Braley, Ross Turner, Tommy Mills (Treasurer), Isabel Mills, Jennifer Duncan, Dianne Martin (Clerk), and Ricki Smith (visitor).
Call to Order: Bob called the meeting to order with prayer at 6:35 P.M.
Preschool proposal
Ricki gave us an overview of her background in early childhood education. She also gave us information on the plan for the preschool, its expected costs and revenues, plans for liability insurance, etc. There was much discussion and Ricki answered many questions.
Approval of Minutes from Last Meeting: Ross made a motion to accept the December meeting minutes. Tommy seconded. The motion passed.
Treasurer Report
Tommy gave the treasurer report. We spent $15,643 more than we took in during 2021. We have 3.3 months cash reserve.
Jr. Warden Report
Beth reported that the two cedar trees purchased for the Christmas Eve service will be planted on our property.
Old Business
The Christmas Eve service was an excellent joint service for Creator and Safe Harbor.
Creator’s web site has been moved to Front Porch Fodder and is in process of being built up. Information from the former website has been archived and is available to be used in the new website. We have secured continuation of Creator’s ownership of the domain name and it will be maintained by Front Porch Fodder.
New Business
Stewardship and Annual Parish meeting
Jennifer made a motion that the 2022 Creator Budget be the same as that of 2021 with two exceptions: 1) increase the housekeeping expense to current levels of $800/month and 2) $0 music ministry general budget funds. Ross seconded the motion. The motion passed.
We will ask the congregation to provide funding as they feel led to the Choir Fund and the Martha Weatherall Performing Arts Fund. Both of these funds are designated funds and can be used to support quality music programs as often as feasible.
February 21st will be the next vestry meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:17 PM.
